What causes cellulite?
As with just about everything in our lives, there is no single cause for cellulite appearance. And, like with so many things in life, we could only guess, though with certain a degree of certainty, that the following factors most probably play a role:
Gender
Age
Total body fat
Poor diet
Lack of physical activity
Slow metabolism
Hormonal factors
Dehydration
Wearing restrictive cloth
At the end, no matter what the above factors are, or, more correctly, they mostly too are the result of the person’s heredity - what all of us inherent from our parents. And it should be said here that whatever we inherent is the results of strict selection by the nature during countless generations of our ancestors struggling for survival. Cellulite is also the product of this survival of the fittest and is there for a reason - even if it does not look good.
Also, gender is one of the predetermine factors of cellulite formation. And the reason for this is in different structure of the dermatological layer that lies just below the surface of the skin in women and men. In women the fat cells and connective tissue in this layer are arranged vertically, while in men the tissue has a criss-cross structure, which makes them less prone to cellulite.
